What We Do
Adoptions
Dharma Dog Rescues aim is to find loving homes for dogs through adoptions. We support Mumbai’s most prominent animal hospital and believe all dogs deserve a chance to live a life full of happiness, care, and comfort. Recognizing the abundance of dogs without homes, we aim to create a platform for dog adoptions on a global scale. We ensure all dogs have their vaccinations, medical records, and undergo diligent health screenings prior to being put up for adoption. Given that these adopted dogs will be coming from India, we have developed a thorough protocol from when there is interest in an adoption(s) to when they arrive at their forever home.
Rescues
With the influx of dogs arriving at animal hospitals and shelters daily, it is often difficult for doctors, staff, and volunteers to treat all dogs due to a shortage of medical supplies, treatment costs, and support being the primary challenges. One of our missions at Dharma Dog Rescues is to collect donations and supplies to assist with the cost of medicines, treatments, and care, ensuring all dogs can get back on their feet as smoothly, comfortably, and quickly as possible. In addition to donations and medical supplies, we also offer opportunities for individuals to volunteer overseas at animal hospitals and truly make an impact on the lives of dogs.
Awareness
Dharma Dog Rescues primary mission will always be to make a direct impact on the lives of dogs, but we also hope to bring awareness to the suffering of dogs around the world. Having a ground-level presence in understanding the plight of street dogs, abandoned dogs, and injured dogs, we aim to shed light on topics that are often overlooked. We believe that the more people become aware of the suffering these dogs experience, the more they may be inclined to make a difference.
